Guiding you in service preparation

Getting in touch

If you haven't contacted me directly, your funeral director may have recommended me. If so, I will call you to arrange a meeting to discuss the funeral ceremony for your loved one. This meeting could be at your home, the funeral home, a coffee shop, community hall or some other place of your choice.

A bespoke ceremony

Each ceremony is crafted to reflect your loved one’s personality, values and story.

When we meet I will help you choose the music, poetry, readings or prayers that could form part of the ceremony. Together we will agree the service structure and content.

I will then go away and produce a draft of the service for your approval. I will work with you to make any changes you require until you are happy with it.

Eulogy writing

If you need me to write a eulogy as part of the service, I will spend time with you to understand your loved one, what made them unique, and what they meant to you. I will then write a tribute that captures their essence and brings their story to life.

I also provide this as a service if you would like help to write your own eulogy.

A memorable send-off

The goal is that together we’ll create a ceremony that's tailor-made for you, that honours your loved one and celebrates their life in a way that brings comfort and connection for friends and family.

On the day

I can deliver the whole service for you or facilitate the involvement of family or friends in delivering key aspects of the service, whether that's a reading, delivering the eulogy or playing a piece of music.

Participation is encouraged, and if others are speaking, I will liaise with them to ensure they are fully involved, know when their turn is to contribute, and ensure there is no repetition.

Hi Piers, I just want to say thank you so much for today – it was the perfect send off! I am sure my mum would be really pleased with everything. Thank you again from all of us.

L, Gloucestershire

The service you provided for us was lovely and thoughtful. You captured the essence of Barry as my husband and a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather perfectly. All the family and friends loved all that you said about him and we all heard things that he'd kept to himself. It was beautiful and enlightening at the same time.

M, Forest of Dean

I just wanted to drop you a line and say from myself and the rest of the family a massive thank you for yesterday. Your delivery of the service was second to none and allowed the day to go without incident. We feel we have sent mum off in the correct way and she would have loved your service too. So once again it has been an absolute pleasure working with you and a massive thank you.

We would all like to thank you for a beautiful service. It was perfect. Thank you.

I wanted to drop you a line to thank you for helping to make Phil’s Celebration of Life so amazing. Of course there was sadness, but there was so much warmth, love and laughter. The eulogy you wrote captured him perfectly.

L, Monmouthshire

The eulogy delivered in honour of my Grandfather was a moving and heartfelt tribute that truly captured the essence of a life well-lived. With grace, warmth, and sincerity, Piers painted a vivid picture of my Grandad's character and the impact he had on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Overall, the eulogy honoured Grandad with dignity and grace. It was a fitting farewell, one that reflected the heart of who he was, and offered great comfort and reflection.
